A Note to My Son


Good Hard Times to Come

My son is here
Happy & Healthy
and I thank God
Guess even more
I can take on my
life's philosophy of
live, love, work &
train hard

I know finacially
raising a child or Children
cost a lot
but you know willpower
& Determination are
two character traits
I've got

I have to set a good example
I have to be a good role model
this is not time to run away
like so many Dads or hit the bottle

I'm not downing any Dad's
I'm not better than them
This is not about you
it's about being a good
man for him

which means I'm that Ace
up his sleeve when life
deals him a bad hand
or when life's beating him
down I'll show him how
to stand

I know it will be difficult at times
but I can't just donate sperm,
I need to earn the right to call
him Son
So as hard as it will be at times
this is the first time I can say
in my life it's Good Hard Times To Come

Great philosophy and a wonderful goal. The highest goal to reach is to be a good dad or mom. By reaching that goal, you not only benefit your child, you benefit the whole world.
