Why Do We?

Why do we prepare meals for the hungry on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day?
When there are people dying from starvation or are they just in the way?
While I believe in celebrating and don't mean to be rude.

Have ever thought about taking one of the hungry's place?

Somewhere, someone goes hungry every day of the week.
Should we just walk and pretend we don't see?
Maybe the next person to go hungry will be you or me?
