Once again we have a senseless shooting and it is a form of home grown terrorism. This piece I wrote in 2001 especially after 911 and the death of my mother from cancer.

I Do Not Know Why?

I do not know why I was the one left behind.
I only know what is in my mind.
That somehow words will come to explain.
To those that have gone on and those that remain.

I only know what words have been written.
The greatest book of all and in it was said.
There is nothing new under the sun.
Nothing was done that wasn't done before.

I do not know why? But then again perhaps I do.
My little words may not mean much to you.
Words are only words and I truly believe.
The meaning or reason is what your mind perceives.

But this I do know, that somewhere the answer is there.
We have a higher power that does care.
We must know that there is sufficient time to grieve.
And when we give our fears to the wind, an answer we will receive.

Dedicated to the memory of all who have died from violent death and cancer.

"And when we give our fears to the wind, an answer we will receive."

I love these lines,
You know they have your famous Sage like wisdom in them, like the
'Beach being the line between terra and the sea - same as the line between life and death..."

((((Hugs for your wisdom and Sagacity))))

Ever in awe,
Love,
Zoya
