Let's all hope for the best.

The future

What wonders does the future hold?
What miracles, what marvels?
I see the future in the eyes of children, I see the future in the thoughts of man.

Looking beyond the veil of time I see marvels unthought, I see machines on distant planets, life constructed and new.
I feel the power of science and I am awed.

But here I sit in my chair, looking at a world torn to pieces.
I see war, blood and pain. I hope the change is for the better, a upheaval for the good of all.

I look at my life, filled with my own disappointment, I look at chances lost and mistakes made.
I look at my past, hoping my future can be as bright as that possible for mankind.
Hoping it won't be like the present.

My past is my own, my fault, my cowardice and mistakes.
I look to the future, to my strength hoping it will improve.
I think and hope, but when will I act?

in the future? (just a little answer to your last question there...)

indeed, hope for the best... but prepare for the worst.

the future is an "f" word, there is only now. ;)
