I was in the hospital recently, and while i was there, this Man, kept calling me, Gook, and Chink, and Jap, and saying other derogitory things behind my back, i believe he thought i did not know he was talking about me, i wrote this poem while there. and
im not some bucked tooth cook,
and im not here to do your nails,
im not in some phonebook full of chins or a confuses tale,
i didn't bomb you, or could i harm you,
i don't know karate, i don't know judo,
like Bruce lee, or jet li, just look at me,
am i more then Japanese?
Look at my eyes, they're more then, exotic,
behind them,it's peaceful and it's chaotic,
just like yours, your not the only one who feels the hate,
and it never really matters, where you live, or what state,
if my name was Yuri, or if my name was Kate,
i still feel the sting of the words you taint,
just cause your caucasion, you can hate me cause im asian?
Just cause your black, you can point out, how much i lack?
just cause, your red, yellow or brown, you can say i shouldn't come around?
im not a china girl, or one of the three little girls from school,
and no i don't know no ancient secret for wool,
if i know my heritage, thats something im proud of,
if i know karate, it's something i trained for,
if im in a kimono, it's cause i do know,
what it means to me, and thats how it's supposed to be,
common misconceptions, and misunderstandings,
are fine, but i couldn't stand your racist outlashing.
