for m.c.

like a breath of fresh air
or a gust of chill wind
she came unto me
she came rushing in
like a breeze from the sea
or zephyr o'er streams
she came flowing in
over mountainous dreams

she dashed through the limits,
touched parts that were dull
and renewed my worn spirit
chased off the old lull
she fashioned desire
for all that was new
and made me a liar for
she knew it weren't true

and then again quickly
left me alone
to wend on my way
back toward home
but a faint feeling of
that which was so she
resides in my heart
effervescing in me.

Rob Graber
What a touching reflection on how people come into our lives and leave us--but not unchanged! The last four lines are especially wonderful.
