Some Lines came to
me at 3 in the morning
and this is the result
I deliberately write blue eyes
instead of red, just 'cos I like blue

~L.~

Fragmented Ashes

Peeping around the doorframe
Blue eyes of malcontentment linger
over the still form of ragged breaths,

Comfort brought by seepage
of cold fingers lingering contradic the
alignmenting comos of lovers dreamy state

Sparkling drops of light reflecting, tinkle
to the ground in an echoing symphony
of crashing beauty escaping fire

As dreams that once held life
burn into fragmented ashes of what
once could be are now fading into death,

And blue eyes of malcontentment, smile
at his brought disinchantment

.....and walk away humming softly in the dark.

Really really cool poem, Liz....and the part about the blue eyes is perfect, it is the blues eyes that impresses me as it relates to this wonderful work.....you are right on.....
but then, I have to admit, I am biased on the blue too, lol.....
truth is, I love blue and green and everything that's in between.
