A student pleading his parent to take him away from the hostel

O father! take me away

Take me away
By Maveriku

O Father! Take me away from here
before it happens what i fear.

The beds are uneasy, and they squeak
and the sounds everywhere disturb my sleep.
The nights are hot and nightmares are more,
Each morning I end up on the floor.
O father! Take me away from here.
Before it happens what I fear.

Here we need to be tough and strong,
only then here we belong
Here I am timid and meek,
on to be counted among the blind and meek.
O father! Take me away from here
before it happens what I fear.

No one here is an ally,
only foes, competition and tally.
Scores, badges count
however for me only woes mount.
O father! Take me away from here
before it happens what I fear.

Why am I the only of your son
whose achievements are exactly none.
Why did you join me here
When you could have kept me near
O Father! Take me away from here
before it happens what I fear.

This flowed nicely - and you describe the emotion at hand really well. This subject is unique - and I really enjoyed it.

Regards,
John.

Nice work. Very often the call to duty is not well received.
