The 'Eve Of A Cold Night

Late on the eve' of a cold night when the stars stair step
I shall come over silence falls
Bearing cups of light only you may see
Gazing through the eyes of eternity,
Asking 'are you there, do you know where the heavens are kept?"
Lit up like the match you spoke of long ago
Burning with a Truth.like a sword too sharp to steal
A temper forged by life unfair harsh of caution
On God's creation oh flower fair won't you sing for me a spell
A song with lyric verse so made to burn to kingdom come
If I may hear you light within deeper than false laws have crept
While countless generations of the senses wide awake have slept
If your arms will open to a pilgrim starveling of the west
Late on the eve' of a cold night when the stars stair step
I shall come over silence falls.
