Love Never Changes

"Things change, that's the way it goes sometimes" she said.

I shook inside
I shook my head
Turned aside
and said,

"Sometimes somethings may, it's always been that way."

" You don't really understand, there's nothing I can do about my situation,
life gave me these cards and I have to stay and play the hand."

I took in stride
What she did and did not mean
I walked into the wind between
Her and my pride,

"If you change your mind," I said. "I won't be far, I will not leave, there's always Time."

"Love never changes, " she said.

I shook inside
I shook my head
Turned aside
and said,

"That's the way it goes sometimes."
