i solicit terri's opinion

there really are

quite a few things of concern

quiet a few

and they really are of concern

i've misplaced my han shan

so i turn to terri, she is sage

i present my case

do i go forward, that is, be concerned

or turn right

that is, know that my concerns pale by comparison

or turn left, that is, enjoy this day

because the sun is bright, and the air is warm

i ask terri which i should choose

she says duhhhhhh

The Chinese equivalent of "carpe diem / seize the day" is Bǎwò guāngyīn... good advice in any language.

Speaking from a point of view of OCD treatment it should be forgotten and you should move on and enjoy the day. Nice piece.

She is right. These questions are ridiculous. The concerns will linger forever, or they will be replaced by new concerns. Chinese poets don't mean shit, but, if the weather's nice, get out and let yourself be happy. Dah!

In the absence of terri's opinion, I would return to han shan and follow his advice when he says that all life depends on those decisions that we take ourselves. :-) terri is right.
