Sunset Serenity
They say the pain is cripplingWhen you never let it go
I let your pain cripple me
And I still let it show
By the coast of these water and rocks
I try to understand this rage
You were a puppet master in plain sight
And I was a bird in a cage
Sunsets were always my favorite
All the nights spent lost together
Who knew that would end so soon
What events would shatter our tether
I promise I’m trying to heal
Undo the locks you’ve left me in
Trying to remove the shackles apparent
And no be a prisoner in my own skin
The serenity at this sunset
Is slowly wiping away my fears
Until I finally release your memory
You’ll always be near
