Guarded

My heart has been guarded for over two years
I feel with you I might have nothing to fear
But in the past that’s how relationships start
And I end up with a broken heart
My heart is guarded by a tall wall
Is it time to let the wall fall?
Should I give another relationship a try?
Or will I be left wondering why?
My heart has been enjoying time with you
But I have been wondering what’s next to do?
One of my favorite sayings is “only time will tell”
For once my heart and mind isn’t wanting to yell
Silently to myself I ask “what do I do next?”
I sit and wait patiently for your next text!
As each day turns into night
I’m not letting my goal out of sight
Hopefully it won’t take long
For me find out where I belong
I can’t wait until my heart is guarded no more
Because then I can love more than I ever did before!
