Just Because
Because I do not hope to turn again. Because I do not hope. Because I do not hope to turn. Wait. No. I do. I do hope. I hope from waking day to midday noon to painful dusk to the last flicker of awareness followed by the slumber of sleep until the next waking day. I hope and hope and hope. I turn and turn and turn. I turn from the curious child to the know-it-all teen to the jaded adult to me writing these words and soon I値l turn to success or failure or somewhere in between until I turn to the grave where I知 sure I値l be turning until the worms have their way with me wherein I値l turn from mouth to anus to refuse to soil until I become a tree and my leaves will turn in the wind until this universe turns into the next where I値l be born again. Still hoping. Still turning. Just because.Poetry by Sameen
