Everything Changes

We had everything, but were you content?
I thought so but look where you went.
Business and money were your new joy.
Your family and friends this would destroy.

Late at night, I would wait.
Until your car was at the gate
I said hello, but you weren't here.
Your intentions had struck me with fear.

Months went by, things declined.
You had left this world behind.
Kids were grown, things had changed.
Your attitude was quite deranged.

The breaking point, you showed no remorse.
Wasn't a problem when we got a divorce.
I took everything and you were alone.
Your new view had been shown.

We had everything, but were you content?
I thought so but look where you went.
Business and money were your new joy.
Your family and friends this would destroy.
