[Song] Open your eyes, ears and hearts. [In memory of the Croc Hunter]

VERSE:

Few care for those without a voice
Reptile, bird and mammal refugees,
Our pleasures their sentence for death
Now that we've almost cleared all the trees.

BRIDGE:

Indifference compounding all their pain
Pollution poisoning both air and ground,
Remove the blinkers, driven by financial gain
WAKE UP! to what's happening to the world around.

CHORUS:

Can't believe the selfish greed of man
causing this habitat destruction of our great land,
Open your eyes, open your hearts
Mother Nature needs our help, her spirit's crying
Help STOP! the unnecessary killings, our wildlife is dying
Open your ears, open your hearts.

VERSE:

It's happening more each day every year
Hectors razed under a bulldozers attack,
Raise your voice, Join the fight
Help give a chance for our bush to come back.

CHORUS:

Can't believe the selfish greed of man
causing this habitat destruction of our great land,
Open your eyes, open your hearts
Mother Nature needs our help, her spirit's crying
Help STOP! the unnecessary killings, our wildlife is dying
Open your ears, open your hearts.
BRIDGE:

Indifference compounding all their pain
Pollution poisoning both air and ground,
Remove the blinkers, driven by financial gain
WAKE UP! to what's happening to the world around.

CHORUS:

Can't believe the selfish greed of man
causing this habitat destruction of our great land,
Open your eyes, open your hearts
Mother Nature needs our help, her spirit's crying
Help STOP! the unnecessary killings, our wildlife is dying
Open your ears, open your hearts.

What a beautiful tribute to the dear Croc Hunter..he was a such an inspiration and lover of animals..you could tell that he loved ever living creature. I remember a bit when he was saving lizards from a brush fire..he was crying and I saw his beautiful spirit. May he rest in peace, in heaven, surrounded by all sorts of creatures!

wish i could hear the music to the melody of your song :) ... a wonderful tribute to a great man who had the passion and utmost respect for all living beings - in a world missing role models, Mr. Irwin was definitely one who will live on in hearts and memories all over the globe... wonderfully written... :f *hug* xx

Dear Liz,

I think you should try and have this recorded, such is the meaning. message and musicality of the words. Any income from sales could be dedicated to an environmental charity in memory of Steve Irwin.

Keep up the good work!

Cheers, Chris

PS I thought of you this morning when I heard the England score; two lovely images from Australia!
