The 2rd part of my summer series. (Jaime)

On Each Journey

As I looked back on my walks in the wood

And the dividing line at which I stood

Two paths emerged to show right and wrong

The weather over each determined a choice

I pondered the left to see if I could stray

And found withered trees blocking my way

The ground riddled with lost ones of my past

I wanted an outcome with an effect that would last

Then the right path emerged with a view just the same

Was this journey a different picture with the same frame

The weather over it cloudy but held some promise too

Yet to me wasn't a path that I should pursue

For many days and nights I stared the paths down

All the way still till my eyes viewed the ground

In the end it wasn't the left that I chose instead

It wasn't even the opposite which held slight dread

It was the center path that held care and safety

Clean air, a new beginning, and shining sea

As I looked back on my walks in the wood

And the dividing line at which I stood

Three paths appeared and made their claim

Yet choose the third and took it just the same
