A welcome back poem for my friends daughter.
What big things have you seen
Perhaps the snow capped mountains
The hill’s vibrant green
When I last said goodbye to you
It wouldn’t be for long
Because when you finally left
You left your own heart song
Time passed as it would
As I counted down the days
Till you’d soon come back
And I’d immerse your soul in praise
Your very short time away
Made me miss you all the more
I missed your care and presence
That I've come to just adore
Now that your journey is through
You’ve come back to me
And I can say to your sweet face
All the love I feel for thee
This message may be kind of long
There is one thing it cannot do
It can’t express the amount of joy
And love I feel for you
Welcome back my sweet daughter
I’m glad you’re finally here
Home to share all the love
And the memories held dear
