Ode to Writing Friends

2024-11-29
What a inspiration of poeteers,
Through your ingenuity of verse.
It's nice to see within your poem,
Your friends all interspersed.
Although I know to well,
You can't include all the poet's.
You know within your rhymes,
I'd like to thank you for including mine.
Regards Alan

It's a very difficult one considering your past
As long as you haven't any regrets
After his passing. You can choose your friends
Unfortunately your stuck with your family

I wish I could say the same.
I was 18 before i knew,
How to spell my name.
( Alan was on my birth certificate),
Not Allan as I used to spell it.

Wandering Back to the Earth

There are many of us outside of life,
That understand how you must feel.
It's sad to think that even though she wanted
a day at the beach. She wouldn't have remembered it,
I would love to say for me ,This is a memorable poem.
But with mixed dementia I can't remember the poem's
That I've written. My heart goes out to you.
Regards Alan

Isolation

2024-08-11
I agree with Lawrence on this subject
But there's nothing so lonely as sitting in a crowded room,
Eating a meal for one, While watching the midday sun.
As for me, I don't know if it's my physical makeup
Even with family round me, the loneliness never goes away.
But it slowly gets better having friends on poetbay bay.
Hugs& xxx IB M REGARDS FROM THE HEART
FROM Alan and his tribe.

I'm so sorry that you had to live through this,
My problem's pale into insignificance compared to
what you had to endure. Your such a brave girl
to be able to confront your past in such a positive way.
Many regards from Alan and the rest of his tribe xxx

Shall I About Yours Then?

You should see my grandson, skinny as a rack
He lives on junk food. Personally it doesn't matter
What size you are, it's what's inside that counts.
If carol has a meal at lunch time she's too full.
Me I have a well cultivated beer belly.
Without drinking the beer.
Regards Alan and Carol.

While out walking with a plasterer cast on my arm.

My carol didn't think it funny,
As I glanced at him and said. "snap"
He did though... Regards Alan

Anquished Hearts

Dear Kathy I was washed with the sadness of this
You are very brave to be able to find the courage to
write through the anguish and the pain
It's such a lovely prayer and although you wrote this long ago
Our hearts goes out to you for your loss
Regards Carol and Alan
Thank you so much for sharing xxxx

Who Will Switch Off The Lights When It Dies? by M.A.Meddings

2024-06-02
I found this poem today
Which is very strange
I think in a good way
It's as though all the other poets
Have gone very far away
As no one else has published
So far today on poetbay
For all the people who read this
Where are they all today
Or will I be like them
Disappearing from our yesterdays
Or maybe this is a wake up call
For one and all on poetbay
Thanks for sharing
Regards Alan

Years later it was proved to be a fake
Although The cheddar man was real
What they displayed in cheddar was
I believe a copy of the piltdown man
Which in 1943 was proved to be a fake
