Writing and scribbling before sleep takes me over
Once again.

My ESCAPE INTO THE POET TREE

2022-11-24
Your welcome to come along,
If you wish to share with me.
The portals that have opened,
Within the poet tree.

What else can you forecast?

2022-11-20
I like the idea of the leaves forming a quilt as they fall.
Well worth the read. Regards Alan

My mornings

The last line could be, in fact you see it's bliss.
Liked the feelings that shone through this poem.
Hope you don't mind,

Jumble

I love the line, Grief rewrites time.
It also works the other way,
Time rewrites grief.
Regards Alan

A Dorky Improvisation

2022-11-13
Must have been made by Some divinity,
Eating that cupcake was a sin to me.
Eating a Boston tea cake good and hearty,
Without being invited to the Boston tea party.
But eating one was one of my holy wishes,
So now I have to stay behind to wash
All the cupcake dishes.

Or
A herd of cupcakes so devine,
I'd eat them all if I had the time.

Ballad for a Friend

Loved this flows through my tiny brain,
like water running through a stream.
Bookmarked this to read again.

CONTRADICTIONS

2022-11-10
A contradiction is a contradiction in itself.
The poor get the blarney,
While the rich get the wealth.
Regards Alan

Poppy Day

2022-11-09
My father bought all his children poppy's,
Then got berated for not wearing one.
He looked with sadness in his eyes as he said.
" Do you think I want to be reminded about
All the people I killed during the war?".
With that I took my poppy off.
I still wear one when the wife buys me one.

IMAGES IN THE MIRRORS

2022-11-05
My upbringing was totally different to yours.
Nobody wanted a backwards boy, stuck at the back of the class a viscous system indeed. Bad at math's good at chess,
Was a contradiction in itself. One who's willingness to be taught was brushed aside. Yet I would have given all to become more than I am. Thanks for posting Allen.
What was the meaning of life.....42.

rainbow in black & white

2022-10-30
I too love the idea of a black and white rainbow,
I've often wondered if anyone noticed.
Two types of star's shine at night,
One extremely bright.
The other as black as night,
Just like your painted rainbow.
All colours of the spectrum,
Painted in black and white.
Thanks for sharing, Regards Alan

Cruel Enemy

2022-10-29
Some poems are hard for a dysfunctional dyslexic like me,
This one struck home. Life can be an unintentional cruel enemy. I too have felt that painful finality of reality as it crept up on Me, As most of us oldies have, thanks for posting my thoughts go with you, regards Alan x

In Putin's jail. Thanks for posting Dougie.

You

2022-10-14
Hi F.i.in.e Moods
No need to feel to blue,
If someone out there doesn't love you.
Your better than them, This I know is true.
After all this person is your mum,
Some day she may realise that.
For all the harm she's done.
She could and should have loved you better than anyone.
I know deep down that you would feel this to.
Your eternal friend, Many hugs and kisses xxx
Regards Alan

The Outlaw & Poet Known as Black Bart

2022-09-18
I'm sure there are many poems to come out of the wild west , if no verification can be made on there source, isn't it better to
Publish them as author's unknown, then to lose them.
Enjoyed reading this. Regards Alan

Diabetic curse

At least you were brave enough to stick it out,
You may look back on the day and realise.
Nothing was your fault and you didn't lose faith in yourself,
If that's the worst it can get you took it all in your stride.
I know this may sound soppy, I would have loved to have given you support when you cried. You should be very pleased with yourself, you didn't give in. Big hugs and kisses my friend.
Xxxx Alan

2022-09-01
I agree whole heartedly with Tom,
How could they not see someone who shares there heart.
Within the poems that they write,
Sometimes it's nice being transparent,
You can observe without being observed. Regards Alan

MICHAIL (1931 - 2022)

2022-09-01
I agree whole heartedly, I'd raise a glass metaphorically,
To a man who thought his people should live free,
To give his people a clear and concise free voice,
Whether it be by communist or democracy,
Or any other choice. That man was Michael.
Regards Alan.

Wales in My Arms

2022-07-19
Loved this tom, hope you don't mind. I stole bits of your poem,
To make one of mine. I really don't mind in giving you a say,
I won't even publish if you say nay. If you wish to veto what I
Wrote, there's nothing horrible, I'm not that type of bloke.
As for Dylan Thomas didn't they make him a posthumous
Poet laureate?. Regards Alan

Playing hokey pokey with your mum.
And when you're back gives in,
You'll never ever twist agin.
Like you did last summer,
That really is a bummer.
