We just had a really cool thunderstorm lightning show and I got inspired! =D

Phantasmagoric lights
Streak the soft pastel sky
In a bright, sudden, beautiful flash
But only for a moment

The fireworks of the gods
Strike the world's chords
As the hand of time
Quivers in retrograde

Reflections of the earth
Memories of the world
Society's great and terrible deeds
Revisited once again

But only for a moment.

Love the word phantasmagoric. You write excellent poems about nature. I also love to write poems about nature. Years ago when I was fifteen, I saw a severe lightning storm that produced green, red, yellow, and purple colored lightning bolts. I have never seen lightning like that since. It was so neat! Keep writing poems like this.

Lightening is always fascinating...It does not scare me, it always stirs up indescribable emotions in me-of strange tremulous feelings...
Avery nice twist in the poem contemplating on the present day world;
A truly inspirational and inspired piece.

Welcome to the bay from my side Xuxa.
