Lost someone very dear to me, problem is that I can accept he's gone...


Losing you

Falling in love with you was a mistake,
but not telling you how I felt even worse!

I knew I loved you
when I first saw you,
those eyes
that gorgeous smile!

You had a way of brightening my day,
your presence was always filled with warmth...

I searched for you,
prayed that you would be safe,
but I found nothing
except TEARS!

You left me behind
leaving the people
to be with God...

I see you wherever I go,
I miss you so much!
I can't go through a day
without crying
or being sad...

Why did you leave me behind?
Am I meant to suffer my whole life?

Thoughts are racing through my head,
once you filled my doorway
stood on my doorstep
laughed at my jokes,
looked at star filled skies...

Now there's an empty space
where you once were
no one to laugh with me,
nobody to help me count the stars...

I wish you didn't have to go,
I didn't want to touch your cold cheeks,
I don't want to see those glassy eyes!

Why is death so cruel?
Why did it need you?

I'm sorry. But that is what poetry is all about. Studying and reading poetry to bring out its best about the author is what makes poetry exciting. Falling in love with your boyfriend wasn't a " mistake". It is just another step in the learning process of what love is really all about. God bless.

Thanks for the comment, but what do you mean about lust? I wrote this poem, and the other one for my boyfriend, he committed suicide...but life goes on, doesn't it! Good to know someone else has been there!
